Here’s an “english” version for “Mizzurna Falls” : https://t.co/YAcv8rONlN It’s not a real translation patch, it just replace japanese texts with IDs and you should look in a text file to read the translation. #MizzurnaFalls #projectmizzurna #Mizzurna @residentevie
Some may find this useful
Here is a translation pack containing the full English text files for Mizzurna Falls

So, here’s what’s really going on with the Mizzurna Falls project. Over the past year, I unfortunately didn’t manage to get much communication with the very skilled person who’s currently making a fanhack patch using my complete translation. I asked for help and advice on Twitter, and several people were able to educate me on rom hacking and making patches for psone games. (Thanks to those who contacted me!) I learned a few things, which were really helpful for my perspective.
One thing I learned was the size and scope of a project like this - how many work hours you could roughly expect it to take if one person was working on the project on a regular basis (it is a lot).
Another thing I learned was about some of the “codes of conduct” of fan hacking. Apparently, many fanhackers will make a point of not responding to any requests for updates.
This may be the way it’s done in the fan hacking world, but I don’t belong to that world. I’m a translator and a fan of an obscure game. My work on Mizzurna has been transparently documented online from day one. I translated that game, and I’d love to see that translation put to use someday.
So, I’ve come to a decision. (I have attempted to run this decision by the person who is currently working on a fan hack, but have not been able to get a response in some months now. I can see they have been active in the fan hacking community with other projects, and I understand they must be very busy. So I have decided to go ahead without their input.)
It seems to me that there’s not that much merit for me in allowing one person to have exclusive use of my translation. I can’t control how and when that translation will be made into a patch. It could be never. So, I’ve decided to take a different approach.
Namely, I have decided to release the full and complete English text files online for anybody with internet access to use freely, for translation into other languages, for fanhack attempts, or whatever.
(If you decide to use my files for your own translation or fan hacking project, please drop me an email and let me know about it! (residenteevee at gmail) I’d love to share the news on Project Mizzurna!)
Of course, I still offer the current fanhacker complete free use of my translation, and I’m always available to assist them with anything I can. I wish them well in their efforts, but I’m not going to keep my translation private anymore. I didn’t translate Mizzurna Falls for internet kudos or accolades, (it would have been nice, but…) I did it because the game deserves to be known by a global audience. Making my translation 100% open and available online is the best way I know to try to make this happen. It’s about all I can do. So I’m doing it.
TL;DR Mizzurna Falls full English translated game text files now available to download in English, for other-language translation attempts/fan hack attempts.
Thank you for your understanding.
Hello everyone, in the interests of transparency and because I know what it’s like to wait and wait for something and be kept in the dark, here’s an update on the Mizzurna Falls translation/hack.
As I’ve said here before, I finished the entire translation into the game files in December 2016 and submitted them to the hacker at the same time. In August this year (2017) I received a partially playable build with the text in-game, however there were some crashes and text issues due to a technical snag that the hacker is currently working on.
I’ve had a lot of messages asking for updates as well as a few messages asking to “just send ME the file!” Guys, it doesn’t exist in playable form yet, and I have zero control over when or if that happens. That ability lies solely with the hacker, who I’m sure is a busy person with their own stuff going on.
If you’d like to see the hack progress, it’s probably better to motivate the hacker via their social media rather than keep asking me. It frustrates me that I don’t have anything to give you guys, because your support has been so wonderful and I do appreciate it very much. But these things take time.
Thanks for your understanding!

a game that keeps track of how many cutscenes you skip and that determines how invested your character acts during cutscenes and in gameplay moments
If you skip too many cutscenes, the game won’t give you highlights on your map to show you where to go, because you didn’t pay enough attention to have made the note on your map yourself.
